LRI Rajpura block, Patiala district, Punjab (on 1:10000 scale) was undertaken as a pilot study in upper Indo-Gangetic plains and is a representative of Punjab and Rohilkhand plains, hot, dry-sub-humid (9.1) agro-ecological region. To carry out detailed soil survey, satellite imaginaries (IRS P6 LISS IV and Cartosat-1) were interpreted for delineation and preparation of landfrom, slope, land use/land cover (LULC) and landscape ecological units (LEU) maps on 1:10,000 scale. During soil survey, approx. 28300 ha area has been covered. The block soils are mapped and classified in to 10 tentative soil series (with 18 phases). The tentative soil map is prepared.

LRI Dhanpatganj (on 1:10000 scale),Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, was undertaken as a case study in middle Indo-Gangetic plains and representative of Rohilkhand, Avadh and south Bihar Plains, hot dry sub-humid (9.2) agro-ecological sub-region (AESR). For detailed soil survey, satellite imaginaries (Sentinel and SRTM data) were interpreted for delineation/preparation of landscape ecological units (LEU) map by superimposing landform, slope and land use/land cover. The block mapped into 11 tentative soil series (with 19 phases) for optimal land use planning. The tentative soil map of block is prepared.

The LRI Pangi block, Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh was undertaken as a case study for detailed soil mapping of Greater Himalayas cold region: South Kashmir and Kumaun Himalayas, warm moist to dry sub-humid eco-region (14.2). Satellite imaginaries (IRS P6 LISS IV and Cartosat-1) were interpreted for delineation and preparation of landfrom, slope, land use/land cover (LULC) and landscape ecological units (LEU) map on 1:10,000 scale. The LEU map were checked by ground-truth verification. Approx. 56000 ha area has been covered during traversing and soil survey. The block soils mapped are mapped into 10 tentative soils.

In LRI (on 1:10000 Scale ) of Nagrota Bagwan Block, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh for Agricultural Land Use Planning , I have carried out detailed soil survey on 10000 ha area of Nagrota Bagwan block by using landscape ecological units (LEUs) by integrating landform, slope and land use/land cover together. Twelve tentative soil series have been identified and mapped into 25 phases of soil series. Major soils belong to Entisols followed by Inceptisols. The crop production in major part of the block is limited by erosion, stoniness and rockiness.

In Land use planning of Buraka micro watershed in Mewat district of Haryana under irrigated ecosystem for integrated watershed development, principal components analysis (PCA) between different soil parameters was performed. Under grid samples, the highly weighted variables for both PC1 and PC2 were EC, K and for PC3 and PC4 were P, S. Among profile samples, EC, N and K were the highly weighted variables for PC1, PC2 and PC3, respectively. These soil variables may be considered for minimum dataset (MDS) for soil quality evaluation.

| Assisted in interpretation of satellite data, delineation of Landscape-Ecological Units (LEUs) of LRI Chamba block in Tehri Garwal district.
