1 1.Natural resource management in Dholi micro-watershed for optimum land use planning: The objectives of this project are to create natural resource database using remote sensing and conventional techniques and development of alternate land use system based on prospect and limitations of existing natural resources. 2.Assessment and mapping of important soil parameters including macro and micro nutrients for 13 priority districts of Assam state (1:50,000 scale) towards land use planning: This project was undertaken with the objectives to study the status and distribution of soil nutrients (N, P, K, Cu, Mn, Zn and Fe) and to prepare soil nutrient map on 1:50,000 scale for 13 districts of (1 1450 (1824 793 (843 1897 (3245 627 (3538 3
2 Land resource inventory for farm planning in Biryakhedi micro-watershed of Jhalarapatan block, Jhalawar district of Rajasthan: Asub-project of LRI of Jhalarapatan block. Land resource inventory was initiated in 5 villages viz. Biryakhedi, Kalakot, Semli, Kanjaro Ki Dahani and Shyopur Ki Dhani of Biryakhedi micro-watershed of Jhalarapatan block of Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. This micro-watershed comprising 500 ha area. Tentatively six soil series were idendified and mapped upto phases level.
3 Land resource inventory for farm planning in Chikkarsinkere hobli of Maddur taluk, Mandya district of Karnataka: Total area of Chikkarsinkere hobli of Maddur taluk is 16,873 ha. Soil survey was carried out using base map of 1:8000 scale. A detailed traverse of the area was made to identify the physiographic units like uplands, midlands and lowlands. Pedon sites were located in transects along the slope from upper slope to lower slopes. About 700 profiles were studied for mapping of soils, based on variation in morphological characteristics and soil development in relation to physiography. On the whole, 13 soil series were identified and their phases were identified and mapped. Out of 13 soil series, 8 series were identified in uplands and 1 series in midland and 4 series in lowland area.
4 Soil resource inventory and land evaluation of Chittaurgarh district for land use planning: The project was undertaken to prepare soil resource inventory of Chittaurgarh district for land use planning on 1:50,000 scale. After correlation, tentatively 40 soil series have been identified. Out of 40 soil series 7 series belong to Aravalli landscape, 14 series in Eastern Rajasthan upland, 10 series to Pathar and Bundelkhand (Vindhyan landscape) and 9 series to Malwa pleateau.
5 Correlation of soil series of India and their placement in National Register-Southern states (AP, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Goa, Puducherry and Lakshadweep): During the period under report 10 soil series were correlated and forwarded to Soil Correlation committee for incorporation in the National Register. Out of these, two Aisandra and Arikunte are entered in National Register.
